- More than 90% of the alcohol consumed by people among the ages of 12 to 20 years of age in the United States is consumed in the form of binge drinks.
- An estimated 1 in 29 women who know that they're pregnant report dangerous levels of alcohol consumption, defined as more than seven drinks in a week or five and above on one occasion.
- Alcohol is broken down by the liver at the rate of approximately one unit per hour (a pint of normal strength beer being two units). As a result, it is possible to still be under the influence of alcohol the following morning.
