Almost 2,000 people under 21 years of age die each year in car crashes in which underage drinking is involved. Alcohol is involved in nearly half of all violent deaths involving teens.
One quarter of all emergency room admissions, one-third of all suicides, and more than half of all homicides and incidents of domestic violence are alcohol related.
Because alcohol is a depressant, it can render a person unable to think, react, and to make logical decisions; is a person drinks large amounts of alcohol, the brain can slow down so much that they can stop breathing and die.
